BIO AND ARTIST STATEMENT

Bio

My name is Zachary Ochoa. I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas and I currently live and work in Lubbock. I studied at Texas Tech University and I graduated from Texas Tech with my BFA in 2020.

Artist Statement

​

I am a multimedia artist, painter and street artist. Street art is one of the many visual representation of my artistic voice. I use very saturated colors in my work and a lot of my graffiti is design orientated using paisley influences. My goals are to continue making art that can relate my point of view and experiences as a Latino living in a conservative Texas city, raised by a single mother, or mine and my families struggles with addiction. When painting I like to reflect on my life and I choose subject matter in which I feel affects me personally. I wish to relate these types of experiences with a larger audience and make them think deeper and connect to an emotional level to a point of view that may be different from theirs.
